Diversity matters
Representation is very important. Not only does proper representation help marginalized communities to feel seen but it also educates the majority. As a queer women of colour, I have never gotten the opportunity to see myself properly represented in the media. All my life I have waited for some director to give me the representation I always needed but the reality is, I'm going to have to make my own representation. My goal is to become a filmmaker and create movies that help people like me feel less invisible.
